I was confused too - well, as most of the info about the album is in this thread already anyway, I think it would make sense to merge the threads.DICEYUK wrote:For some reason we seem to have 2 threads going on the same subject - this is what I posted in the other one yesterday thinking it was the Interstellaires thread

Re: Interstellaires - the album
Thanks for bringing this up, DICEYUK. I moved all the album messages to the album topic. It looks a bit messy, but I guess it is better now.

Re: Interstellaires - the album
My Collector & normal CD has just arrived.
The Collector (No. 8517) is awesome & well worth 50 Euro.
It is beautifully done & so much better then some of the tat we got with some of the recent Collectors (e.g. Point De Suture)
In fact it's very similar, if not almost identical, to the Anamorphosee Collector
Interesting that the tracks/lryics in the booklets are in a different running order to what's on the CD.
Whilst the downloads served a useful purpose, the real thing gives a much better audio quality.
So much so, that it's almost like hearing them for the first time again.
God she sounds fantastic through a good hi-fi system with the volume up and the backing tracks are crisp, clear & chunky

Congratulations! Enjoy!
And yes, MP3 is no match to a CD.

It sounds even better through headphones - you can hear every intake of breath on "I want you to want me".
And City Of Love has so much going on in the background - it's fast becomming my favourite

Dicey, I'm glad you brought this up. I sat up last night with my Bose noise cancelling headphones and it was revealing so much. Then I switched to my "In Ear" monitors that I use on stage. These have 8 drivers and have been fitted to my ears by an audiologist who poured molds. Man, did that step it up a notch. I cannot wait to get my legit version. I am hearing low res artifacts with the downloads.
I also agree about City of Love. My current fav. This is so rich. Background harmony and the lush arrangement. I listen over and over and switch between my sound system and my Ears. There is a lot to absorb throughout the album.
Calais? Grab me a handful of sand and send it to me in a sandwich bag!
Another Booze Cruise?

Yep, I go twice a year - May & November.Bobalu wrote:Calais? Grab me a handful of sand and send it to me in a sandwich bag!

Wine is so much cheaper, and better in France than it is in the UK.
You can get good stuff there for £1 to £2 a bottle whereas in the UK we have nothing under £4 a bottle and anything half decent is £5+.
I normally buy around 120 bottles each trip and even taking into account the tunnel & petrol costs I usually manage to save around £200 per trip.
Sadly though the days when I could include a couple of hours browsing in various Calais CD shops are gone.
It's a long day - 4 hours driving there & 4 hours driving back but it's worth it.
And when I go next Tuesday I'll be listening to Instellaries all of the way.
